Rebar Hook, Bend & Cutting Length Calculator — FAQ

What is the hook length of rebar?

A standard 180° hook adds about 9 × bar diameter to the cutting length.

Why do we deduct for bends?

Bending a bar shortens its outside length, so a deduction (1d–3d) is applied per bend.
